The Laos–China Railway offers three main seating classes on its high-speed trains, designed to suit different comfort levels and budgets.

Seat Class Overview

Business Class

  • Premium 2+2 seating layout
  • Fully reclining, extra-wide electric seats
  • Typically located in the control car (around 56 seats)
  • Often includes VIP lounge access and complimentary drinks
  • Ideal for passengers seeking maximum comfort and privacy

First Class

  • Comfortable 2+2 seating layout
  • Wide, well-padded seats with adjustable headrests and footrests
  • More legroom than standard class
  • Usually quieter and less crowded

Second Class

  • Standard 2+3 seating layout (around 720 seats per train)
  • Compact but still comfortable and air-conditioned
  • Includes charging ports and decent legroom
  • Best value option for most travelers

Seat Allocation & Layout Details

  • Seats are randomly assigned through the LCR Ticket System
  • Window seats: A, F
  • Aisle seats: C, D
  • Seat rows:
    • Rows 1–7 usually face forward
    • Rows 8–14 may face backward
  • Some carriages feature table seating arrangements, where groups of seats face each other (e.g., 7A/C/D/F facing 8A/C/D/F)
